Missing a Key on Your Laptop?

Whether the key is completely gone or you still have a few pieces, a full OEM replacement kit restores it in under 5 minutes — no tools, no keyboard swap.

  • All 3 parts included — even if you lost everything
  • Ships in 1–2 business days
  • From $5.95 per key

Take 30 seconds to look at the keyboard where the missing key used to be. You're looking for three things — any of them still present saves you nothing on the order (kits always include all three parts), but knowing what you have helps with installation.

What to look for in the empty key spot:

  • 1. A small plastic frame (the retainer clip) still hooked onto the keyboard — usually means the keycap simply popped off.
  • 2. A silicone dome (the rubber cup) sitting in the center — this is the spring that gives the key its feel. If it's flattened, bring the new one.
  • 3. Nothing at all — just the bare keyboard base with four small metal hooks visible. This is where the new retainer clip will latch.

Laptop keys are most commonly lost in three situations:

  • Vacuum cleaners and pets. A loose keycap on a desk is a magnet for vacuum nozzles and curious cats.
  • Cleaning gone wrong. People pop keys off to clean under them, then can't get them back on — or break the clip trying.
  • Travel damage. Something pressed against the keyboard in a bag catches a key and pulls it off.

In all three cases, replacing just the missing key with an OEM kit restores full functionality and appearance at a fraction of the cost of a keyboard swap.
